Current and recent exhibitions

It's been three months since I finished my MLITT in Painting at Glasgow School of Art. Times flown by! I've had my paintings in a few exhibitions since, in Scotland, New York and China. 'Originality' in Chengdu, China and 'FLY' in Edinburgh, Scotland are still open to the public. Here's a few photos from the exhibitions:

The Shape Of Things To Come - GSA Degree Show 2016

It's been just over a month since I passed with Distinction from the Masters of Letters in Fine Art Studio Practice (MLITT) at Glasgow School of Art. It has been an intense and rewarding year and I really enjoyed making my degree show work, so I'm very pleased to share some info and pictures from the exhibition:

We are in a period of time where man has caused long-term damage to the Earth – the age of man – what could the next epoch of time look like if it was a world beyond man?

The Shape Of Things To Come articulates a post-apocalyptic worldview through constellations of modular works and immersive wall and floor drawings, which integrate illusionary drawing and painting techniques with abstract minimalist surfaces. The work combines humanities fading presence with elements from nature to question how long man will live in respect to deep time and to comment on the culpability of our actions against the environment for humans now and humans to come.

Upcoming exhibition 'No More'

I'm excited to announce that next Wednesday I will exhibiting with a fellow GSA MLITT Painting student, Liam Dunne in 'No More'. The exhibition will show works from two worlds which explore ideas of utopia/dystopia. Join us for the private view in Project Space 1 at The Art School, 20 Scott Street, Glasgow at 6.30pm Wednesday 8th June. The show will run till 12pm Friday 10th June.

Exhibition Opening - PRIME

I'll be exhibiting work along with my fellow GSA MLITT Painting and Drawing's students at PRIME. The exhibition is opening this Saturday at Wall Projects II gallery in Montrose. My work is installed in the atmospheric Old Rope Works, the space is overgrown, with long hanging plants, cobwebs and beautiful architectural elements including whalebone features. The site is perfectly suited to house my SF post-apocalyptic works. We had great fun installing the show yesterday so come down and check it out, it's open from the 16th-30th April.

Upcoming exhibitions

It's going to be a busy couple of weeks on my course at GSA with an OPEN Studios event on the 9th April and an exhibition in Montrose at Wall Projects gallery from the 16th-30th April!
