Altered

St Martins at Palace Place Church, Norwich, 2022

Altered explores humanity’s powerful influence on the environments, climate and ecology of the planet in relation to deep-time. To alter something is to change it, causing a difference without loss of identity. The exhibition considers the effect of human-caused alterations to the planet on the unique set of characteristics which define the Earth’s planetary identity. Located in the area of the church where the altar was once located, I aim to question what has, is and will be sacrificed on the altar of humankind due to what’s altered.
